The quick answer
The electronic C5 is Jamaica’s immigration and customs declaration. Complete it through the official PICA and Jamaica Customs service, then arrange your transfer separately. Your C5 confirmation does not reserve a car. For pickup, your transport provider needs the arriving flight, local arrival date and precise accommodation details.
C5 and your transfer: two separate confirmations
Arriving passengers must submit the electronic C5 declaration. It is an official border procedure, not a transfer booking, visa or guarantee of admission. A hotel reservation, transport inquiry or driver message does not replace it. Keep the government confirmation separate from your transport confirmation so you can find the right instructions quickly.
Prepare flight details and accommodation information
Have your passport, travel itinerary and accommodation confirmation ready. The official form asks for personal and passport details, flight and departure information, travel date, length of stay and luggage. Its Jamaica address field allows a hotel name or residential address. For a villa or Airbnb pickup, separately agree the exact property, map pin, entrance and host contact with your transport provider. A listing name alone may not identify the vehicle entrance. Do not send passport details or the completed C5 to a driver.
Before departure: submit and keep your confirmation
The official electronic declaration is free. Use the service identified by PICA and Jamaica Customs, and follow its current instructions rather than a paid intermediary’s promises. Email verification is currently required, so use an account you can access before travelling. Check names and travel details before submission and keep the confirmation available offline. This guide does not set a submission window or promise that a particular screenshot will satisfy border officials.
From landing to being ready for pickup
Scheduled touchdown is not the moment you can meet a driver. Complete the entry formalities, collect your baggage and clear customs before proceeding to the public arrivals area. Follow the meeting instructions in your actual transport confirmation; do not assume every provider has an airport desk. Agree waiting conditions beforehand. If baggage, immigration or a changed flight delays you, contact your confirmed provider and tell them when you are ready. Choose the route for your actual accommodation, not just the nearest well-known resort.
Questions about C5 and MBJ airport transfers
Does my C5 confirmation also confirm my transfer?
No. The declaration and the journey are separate arrangements. A confirmed transfer needs its own agreed route, passengers, luggage, price, meeting instructions and contact details. Saving a C5 confirmation does not send those details to a transport provider.
What if my flight or accommodation changes?
Check PICA’s current instructions for correcting declaration details. Separately tell your booked transport provider about the new arriving flight, local date or property. Do not assume changes to the government form automatically update a transport booking.
Before you fly: a practical checklist

- Use an accessible email account and save your C5 confirmation privately.
- Check the flight arriving at MBJ and its local arrival date.
