A grocery stop is part of your MBJ transfer only if the actual provider explicitly confirms it. Agree the practical location, shopping time, detour, waiting charges and complete transport price before accepting. Groceries are a separate expense. A private vehicle does not automatically include shopping time or extra luggage space.
Grocery stop or straight to your accommodation?
First ask your host what will already be available at the villa or Airbnb. A small first-night shop may be enough; a full trolley can make the journey and vehicle requirements quite different. Ask whether the host can arrange supplies before arrival, and confirm any cost separately. Montego Bay, westbound Negril and eastbound Duncans or Silver Sands are different routes: a convenient store for one journey may mean a detour on another. Let the provider confirm a practical stop rather than choosing a shop from its distance to MBJ alone.
Agree the route, time, price and luggage before arrival
Send your flight, local arrival date, exact accommodation, passenger count, bags and intended shopping scope. Ask which stop is feasible, how long shopping may take, when additional waiting starts and what a detour or longer stop costs. Obtain one written transport total; the shopping bill is separate. Standard estimates allow up to three passengers and VIP up to two, subject to luggage. Shopping bags also need space. A larger group or substantial purchase needs an individual vehicle assessment, not an assumption that spare seats prove load capacity. A message containing a request is not an accepted itinerary.
If you arrive late or the stop cannot go ahead
If flight delays, baggage problems or airport formalities change your exit time, contact the confirmed provider to review the plan. Do not assume the shop will still be open, an alternative will be available or the original price still applies. Agree whether to continue directly to the accommodation and arrange supplies with the host. Share the updated arrival plan with the host separately, including gate access. Neither a grocery delivery nor a later shopping trip is automatically included. Road estimates exclude shopping and do not guarantee a check-in time.

Can I request a grocery stop after landing?
You can ask, but the provider may decline or need to revise the timing and fare. Obtain explicit acceptance before relying on the stop; asking the driver is not a guarantee.
Can a shared hotel shuttle stop for my shopping?
Do not assume an individual shopping stop is allowed. Check the actual shuttle terms. A confirmed private journey and a shared resort service have different arrangements; neither includes shopping merely because you request it.
